Hi! I'm Amanda.I have always had a desire to help people, protect them and create a positive impact on everyone around me. It was this motivation that inspired my passion both as a Registered Massage Therapist and a Doula. My enthusiasm for a healthy and holistic lifestyle
starts at home with my husband and three children and is something that I bring into both practices. While studying to become an RMT, I discovered a whole new world of holistic lifestyle options through instructors and classmates. The "bonus" education was a life-changing experience, beyond acquiring my diploma. I learned about holistic health care options, informed choice, and developed an interest and value in women and family centered care. |
As my massage therapy practice and my own family grew so did my interest in working with families.
I began focusing my post graduate education on courses to help me while working with pre and postnatal clients and children. My own births and my massage therapy work with pregnant people and new parents then created a deep interest in birth work, so that is where my doula career
began.
When not working with my clients, I attempt to create a work life balance by spending time with my friends and family; sharing good food and relaxing. In my free time I can usually be found encouraging my children's passions on the sidelines of a lacrosse field or watching a gymnastics meet, in the gym or reading more about pregnancy and birth. My volunteer hours are spent being a Girl Guide
leader and making sure children are safe as a Child Passenger Safety Technician (car seat tech). These are the things that keep me happy and fulfilled.
